How can proton therapy centers improve efficiency without compromising quality of care? In this peer-led webinar, Proton Therapy Academy network experts share proven, real-world strategies for optimizing clinical workflow and treatment efficiency. Andrew Wroe, PhD, Director of Proton Physics at Miami Cancer Institute, will present workflow improvements that enhance proton treatment efficiency, including how OIS and RTLS data can be leveraged to measure performance and identify actionable optimization opportunities. Charles Simone, MD, Chief Medical Officer at New York Proton Center, will discuss approaches to optimizing treatment efficiency through treatment planning and related processes that directly impact throughput and resource utilization. Attendees will gain practical tools, insights, and takeaways that can be replicated and implemented at their own centers, drawing from optimization strategies that have delivered measurable improvements in real clinical environments.
Prior to attending the on-site course, participants will be enrolled in a series of web-based modules, which will provide you basic knowledge of proton thearpy. During the course of the week participants discovr the history of the the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, review the fundamentals of proton therapy physics and technology, delve into the considerations for clinical operations, treatment planning, as well as the more specialized treatment of pediatric patients. The course includes observations and specific elements for Radiation Oncology, Physicists, Dosimetry, and Radiation Therapists. Registration closes March, 2nd, 2026.
