About the course

Since 2014, the Department of Radiation Oncology at Penn Medicine has been offering education to new proton therapy professionals and trained thousands around the world, both in person and through online modules. Our clinical certificate courses are designed for radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and administrators.

  • Web-Based Proton Administrative Series: Designed for individuals who are considering developing a proton center
  • Web-Based Proton Clinical Course: Comprehensive role-based curriculum teaching the basics for delivering proton therapy safely and effectively. Certificate provided upon completion. Closed captions provided in English and Spanish.
  • Principles of Proton Therapy 1-Week Course: Comprehensive curriculum with room for customization to provide a strong foundation in the clinical rationale and workflow behind safe, precise, and effective proton therapy delivery. Five-day on-site training at Penn Medicine with access to web-based modules as a prerequisite. Certificate of participation awarded upon completion.
