UMCG

The University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) Proton Therapy Center was the first proton therapy center in the Netherlands and, since opening in January 2018, has become a leading center for proton therapy in Europe. Its state-of-the-art facilities, outstanding faculty, and staff strive to continuously improve the future quality of radiotherapy through training, education, and scientific research. The center provides educational opportunities through residency programs, internships, and scientific meetings. Continuously aiming to improve the quality and effectiveness of treatment through research, the department uses evidence-based methodology, a model-based approach to implement and validate new radiotherapy technologies. In this approach, regular patient care and scientific research are integrated.
