About the institution

PSI is the largest research institute for natural sciences and engineering in Switzerland. It is a key pillar of the Swiss research landscape, conducting cutting-edge research in the fields of future technologies, energy and climate, health innovation, and the fundamentals of nature. PSI develops, builds, and operates highly complex particle accelerator-based large research facilities. Additionally, PSI operates the only facility in Switzerland for the treatment of specific cancers with protons.

About the course

The medical physics section of the Center for Proton Therapy is affiliated with the physics department of ETC in Zurich and is involved in the teaching of medical physics at bachelors and masters level. Further information on these courses can be obtained via the secretariat of Prof. Tony Lomax (sibylle.bollhalder@psi.ch) Research and development remains at the core of our center, and we continue to work towards the introduction of new clinical indications and innovative therapy concepts for proton therapy.
